Our Sicily offers sun, sea, culture and history, art and places of interest and cities you wouldn't want to miss...

Sicily is a warm and welcoming island, full of colours, from blue to emerald green of the sea, the blue celeste of the sky, the yellow of the sun and lemons, the multicoloured Sicilian carts and fruit made of marzipan. Balestrate is a coastal town in the province of Palermo, close to the province of Trapani. Due to its strategic location it's a perfect starting point for visiting all the places of interest in the western part of Sicily. Balestrate is characterized by a beautiful seascape, it's two golden, sandy beaches and the wood that's close to the largest of the two beaches. Part of this beach is free accessible and the other part is dominated by the typical lido's and bathing establishment where you'll find beach umbrellas, deckchairs, bars, children's playgrounds and much more. In the evening some of the lidos become "beach discothèques".

Many inhabitants participate to the numerous manifestations like the sagre (local feasts) and carneval, but it is in the summertime when the town really comes alive: days filled with sun, sea, a walk in the open air and night-time excursions. To make the most out of your stay on this beautiful island, we suggest you to follow the schedules and habits of the Sicilians, starting with an aperitivo (aperitif) in a bar, followed by a long dinner in a restaurant, tasting the typical dishes of the Sicilian kitchen, like fresh fish or a nice pasta (try the spaghetti ai ricci di mare or pasta allo scoglio: a pasta with sea urchins or a range of seafood). Late in the evening it's back to a bar or gelateria in the centre of Balestrate to have a brioche con la granita (a bun with a kid of water ice) or a nice gelato artigianale (fresh made ice cream), listening to music or watching spectacles on the town square.
